News Coverage on Message of Necessity for Immediate Vote
Gov. Cuomo To Legislative Leaders: Step On ItCeleste Katz
Gov. Cuomo, during a meeting this morning with Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, told the leaders he will not be giving any messages of necessity that would let them vote on bills before they aged the legally required three days, a source with direct knowledge of the conversation said.
That would mean all deals must be finalized no later than Monday if they are to be voted on by the scheduled June 21 close of session.
“The discussions [this morning] were productive and collegial, with an eye toward having a productive end of session,” the source said.
